Sven H. Borho is a founder and Executive Partner of OrbiMed. Until retiring as a Managing Partner in 2026, Sven headed OrbiMed’s public equity business and served as a portfolio manager for its public equity and hedge fund strategies. Sven joined OrbiMed’s predecessor firm in 1991 as a senior analyst covering European pharmaceutical and global biotechnology companies and became a portfolio manager for the firm’s first hedge fund in 1993. He helped build OrbiMed into one of the world’s leading dedicated healthcare investment firms. Sven is a CFA charterholder. He studied business administration at Bayreuth University in Germany and holds an M.Sc. in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics.
