Bio

Donnie joined OrbiMed in 2022 as a Venture Partner. Previously, he was Executive Chairman and President of BioShin (Shanghai), and Chief of Corporate Strategy and Business Development at Biohaven Pharmaceuticals. Prior to BioShin and Biohaven, Donnie was Vice President, Business Development, and Head of Search & Evaluation at Bristol-Myers Squibb. From 1998 to 2005, Donnie was a member of the Division of Geographic Medicine and Infectious Disease at Tufts-New England Medical Center. He earned his undergraduate degree from University College Dublin, his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and his M.P.H. from the Harvard School of Public Health. His business interest is focused on therapeutics.

Highlights:

  • Spent 2002-2004 in KwaZulu Natal setting up an HIV treatment program and a graduate program in medical informatics
  • Ran the Boston Marathon 7 times and as an undergrad archaeology student worked on digs in Dublin (Viking), Mayo (Mesolithic) and Tanzania (Paleolithic)
  • His best hours are those spent with his wife Michelle, son Tim and daughter Molly (and their Golden Retriever, Finn)
