Thomas J. Schuetz, M.D., Ph.D., is currently an Entrepreneur-In-Residence with OrbiMed. Dr. Schuetz has over 8 years of experience leading clinical development programs at both public and privately-held biopharmaceutical companies. Dr. Schuetz was previously the CMO of Therion Biologics Corporation and was the Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Transkaryotic Therapies, where he lead the clinical development of Replagal® for the treatment of Fabry disease and Elaprase® for the treatment of Hunter Syndrome. Dr. Schuetz holds an M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School, cum laude, and a Ph.D. in Genetics from Harvard University. He did an internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was also Chief Medical Resident, and a Medical Oncology fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, both in Boston. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.

Klaus Veitinger, M.D., Venture Partner, has been affiliated with OrbiMed since 2007. During his prior 16-year pharmaceutical career, Dr. Veitinger held senior management positions in drug development, licensing and business development, strategic planning and M&A, as well as general management. Most recently, Dr. Veitinger was a Member of the Executive Board of Schwarz Pharma AG and the Chief Executive Officer of Schwarz Pharma Inc. where he was responsible for the US and Asia businesses, and a series of high value transactions culminating in the ultimate sale of the Schwarz Group. Dr. Veitinger earned his medical degree from the University of Heidelberg and holds a US medical certification. He earned his doctorate (Ph.D.) in pathophysiology from the University of Heidelberg and his MBA at INSEAD in France. Dr. Veitinger served as a Director of BoneCare International and as Vice-Chairman of AnorMED Inc. until their ultimate sale. Dr. Veitinger also served on the Board of Aryx Pharmaceuticals and as a Director of PhRMA for seven years. Dr. Veitinger is currently a Director of Chroma Therapeutics and Avigenics.
