Carl L. Gordon, Ph.D., CFA, is a founding General Partner of OrbiMed. Mr. Gordon is active in both private equity and small-capitalization public equity investments. He was a senior biotechnology analyst at Mehta and Isaly from 1995 to 1997. He was a Fellow at The Rockefeller University from 1993 to 1995. Mr. Gordon received a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His doctoral work involved studies of protein folding and assembly. He received a Bachelors degree from Harvard College.

Michael B. Sheffery, Ph.D., is a founding General Partner of OrbiMed. Dr. Sheffery was formerly Head of the Laboratory of Gene Structure and Expression at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He received both his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and his B.A. in Biology from Princeton University. Dr. Sheffery joined Mehta and Isaly in 1996 as a Senior Analyst covering the biotechnology industry.

Jonathan T. Silverstein, J.D., is a General Partner of OrbiMed. Mr. Silverstein joined OrbiMed in 1999 to focus on private equity and structured transactions in small capitalization public biotechnology and medical device companies. Mr. Silverstein was previously a Director of Life Sciences in the Investment Banking Department at Sumitomo Bank. During his tenure at Sumitomo he was in charge of strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions in the biotech sector. Prior to Mr. Silverstein's tenure at Sumitomo Bank, he was an associate at Hambro Resource Development. Mr. Silverstein has a J.D. and an M.B.A. from the University of San Diego, and a B.A. in Economics from Denison University.

Klaus Veitinger, M.D., Ph.D., is currently a Venture Partner with OrbiMed. During his prior 16-year pharmaceutical career, Dr. Veitinger held senior management positions in drug development, licensing and business development, strategic planning and M&A, as well as general management. Most recently Dr. Veitinger was a Member of the Executive Board of Schwarz Pharma AG and the Chief Executive Officer of Schwarz Pharma Inc. with responsibility for the U.S. and Asia businesses culminating in the ultimate sale of the Schwarz Group. Dr. Veitinger earned his medical degree at the University of Heidelberg and holds a U.S. medical certification. He earned his Ph.D. in Pathophysiology at the University of Heidelberg and his MBA at INSEAD in France. For seven years he was a Director of PhRMA.

Thomas J. Schuetz, M.D., Ph.D., Dr. Schuetz is currently an Entrepreneur-In-Residence with OrbiMed. Dr. Schuetz has over 8 years of experience leading clinical development programs at both public and privately-held biopharmaceutical companies. Dr. Schuetz was previously the CMO of Therion Biologics Corporation and was the Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Transkaryotic Therapies, where he lead the clinical development of Replagal® for the treatment of Fabry disease and Elaprase® for the treatment of Hunter Syndrome. Dr. Schuetz holds an M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School, cum laude, and a Ph.D. in Genetics from Harvard University. He did an internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was also Chief Medical Resident, and a Medical Oncology fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, both in Boston. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.

Peter Thompson, M.D., is currently a Venture Partner with OrbiMed who brings over 20 years of industry experience to OrbiMed. He co-founded Trubion Pharmaceuticals, and served as CEO and Chairman from its inception through its IPO on NASDAQ and as a public company until his retirement in 2009. Dr. Thompson is the former Vice President & General Manager of Chiron Informatics at Chiron Corporation and held various executive positions at Becton Dickinson, including Vice President, Research and Technology Department of BD Bioscience. Dr. Thompson is a co-founder of iMetrikus, a clinical decision support company, where he served as CEO and Chairman. He is the founder and Managing Director of Strategicon Partners, an investment and management services company. Dr. Thompson is an Affiliate Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Washington and serves as a Director of Anthera (NASDAQ: ANTH), CoDa Therapeutics, Methylgene (TSX: MYG), Principia Biosciences, and Response Biomedical (TSX: RBM). Dr. Thompson is an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awardee, an inventor on numerous patents, and a board-certified internist and oncologist. He was on staff at the National Cancer Institute following his internal medicine training at Yale University. He received his medical and undergraduate degrees from Brown University.

Vince Burgess is currently a Venture Partner with OrbiMed. Mr. Burgess has over 20 years of experience in healthcare operations, business development and venture capital investment. Vince was on the founding executive team at Volcano Corp., where he was Group President, Advanced Imaging Systems, and also led global marketing and business development from 2002 to 2010. At Volcano, he was a key architect of the company's product, marketing and M&A/partnering strategies. During his tenure, Volcano grew from a raw start-up to a global company with over 1,000 employees and a market capitalization of over $1.2 billion. Previously, Mr. Burgess served as a general partner of San Diego-based Sorrento Ventures, focusing on the firm's healthcare investments. Vince also has prior operational and board level experience in the surgical tool, ophthalmology and health care IT fields. Mr. Burgess earned his MBA at the Anderson School at UCLA and his BS in Business Administration from USC.

Matthew R. Patterson, is an Entrepreneur-In-Residence with OrbiMed. Mr. Patterson has over 18 years of experience in both private and publicly-held biopharmaceutical companies. Mr. Patterson worked for Amicus Therapeutics from 2004 to 2011, most recently serving as President and Acting CEO. Prior to Amicus, Mr. Patterson worked at BioMarin Pharmaceutical, first serving as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and later Vice President of Commercial Planning. Previously Mr. Patterson also worked at Genzyme Corporation in Manufacturing and Regulatory Affairs. Mr. Patterson received his B.A. in Biochemistry from Bowdoin College.

Rishi Gupta, J.D., is a Principal on the Private Equity team. Previously, he was a healthcare investment banker at Raymond James & Associates, served as Manager of Corporate Development at Veritas Medicine, and was a summer associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. Mr. Gupta has published scientific articles on the mechanisms of HIV entry into host cells and legal articles on intellectual property laws in the developing world. He received his A.B. degree magna cum laude in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard College and holds a J.D. from the Yale Law School.

David Bonita, M.D., is a Principal on the Private Equity team. Prior to joining Orbimed, Dr. Bonita worked as a corporate finance analyst in the healthcare investment banking groups of Morgan Stanley and UBS. He has also published scientific articles in peer reviewed journals based on signal transduction research performed at the Harvard Medical School. Dr. Bonita received his A.B. degree magna cum laude in Biological Sciences from Harvard University and his joint M.D./M.B.A. from Columbia University where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society.

Chau Q. Khuong is a Principal on the Private Equity team. He joined OrbiMed in 2003. Mr. Khuong has experience in start-up operations and business development at Veritas Medicine, Inc. and in basic science research at the Yale School of Medicine and at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was a summer Associate in the New Ventures technology transfer group at Columbia University. Mr. Khuong holds a BS in molecular, cellular and developmental biology with a concentration in biotechnology and an MPH with a concentration in infectious disease, both from Yale University.

Mona Ashiya, Ph.D., is a Senior Associate on the Private Equity team. Before joining OrbiMed, she covered the biotechnology industry as a member of J.P. Morgan's biotechnology equity research team. Her previous professional experience includes positions at Needham & Co., the Global Alliance for TB Drug Development, and the Harvard Business School. She has also published scientific articles in various peer reviewed journals. She earned a B.A. degree from the University of California at Berkeley, a Ph.D. in Cellular, Molecular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Pittsburgh, and was a post-doctoral fellow at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute where her research focused on mechanisms of programmed cell death.

David M. Darst is a Senior Associate on the Private Equity team. Mr. Darst is a co-founder of two biotechnology companies with treatments in clinical development for Age-Related Macular Degeneration and for Tuberculosis. He also co-founded an Internet health company, and worked as a summer associate with McKinsey & Company, Pfizer, and Millennium Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Darst earned an A.B. degree cum laude from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Vivian P. Liu is an Analyst on the Private Equity team. Prior to joining OrbiMed, she was as an analyst in the healthcare investment banking group at Goldman Sachs where she worked with companies in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and diagnostics sectors on acquisitions, financings, and corporate strategy. Ms. Liu holds a B.A. in Human Biology and Political Science from Stanford University.
