W. Carter Neild, CFA
W. Carter Neild, CFA, is a Partner of OrbiMed. Mr. Neild joined OrbiMed in 2002 and has led the firm's expansion into areas such as biopharmaceutical royalty investments and Asia. Mr. Neild was previously a Director of the UBS Alternative Investments Group. Prior to his tenure at UBS, he spent four years in the investment management division of First Chicago, now part of J.P. Morgan. Mr. Neild received an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Chicago, a B.A. in Economics from Emory University, and a C.E.P. from the Institute D'Etudes Politiques in Paris. He received the CFA charter in 1995.
Chief Financial Officer
Evan Sotiriou, joined OrbiMed in 2011 as the Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Sotiriou was previously the CFO at Archer Capital Management. Prior to Archer, Mr. Sotiriou was a Managing Director responsible for finance and operations at Clearlake Capital Group. Prior to Clearlake, Mr. Sotiriou was responsible for various financial, operational, investor relations and administrative activities at GSC Group from 2000 to 2007. Mr. Sotiriou started his career in the Investment Banking Division of JP Morgan & Co. He has served on the Board of Directors of Woods Equipment Company, Burke Industries, Inc., Scovill Fasteners, Inc., and Outsourcing Services Group, Inc. Mr. Sotiriou graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Dartmouth College with an A.B. degree in Economics and Mathematics.
Alexander M. Cooper
Alexander M. Cooper joined OrbiMed in 2010 as the General Counsel. Mr. Cooper previously worked at Goldman Sachs from 2003 to 2010, serving as counsel primarily in the Asset Management business and also in the Corporate Governance group. Prior to Goldman Sachs, he was an attorney at Davis Polk & Wardwell in the Investment Management Group and Litigation Department and a law clerk for the Hon. Lourdes G. Baird of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Mr. Cooper received his J.D. from Yale Law School, where he was an Essays Editor of the Yale Law Journal, as well as an M.Phil. from Oxford University and an A.B., magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Brown University.
Donald Bennett, CPA
Donald Bennett, CPA, joined OrbiMed in 2003 as the Controller. Mr. Bennett previously worked at Joel E. Sammet & Co., where he provided extensive audit and tax services for a broad base of clients in the investment advisory and insurance industries. Prior to employment at Joel E. Sammet & Co., he worked for E.F. Hutton. Mr. Bennett received his B.A. from St. Johns University.
Director of Investor Services
Kerrie Swingle joined OrbiMed in 2006 as the Director of Investor Services. She has previous investor relations experience from HSBC, Seligman and Alliance Capital. Ms. Swingle has a B.A. in Biology from Drew University.
William Price joined OrbiMed in 2010 as a Director, Business Development to focus on the firm's client relations and growth initiatives. Mr. Price spent the previous decade marketing alternative investment products for several firms including Morgan Stanley, Lehman Brothers and Mellon Capital. Mr. Price received a M.B.A. from Fordham University and a B.S. from Villanova University.
Chief Technology Officer
Daniel Rhee joined OrbiMed in 2007 as the Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Rhee previously worked at Gravitas Technology, Inc., an outsourcing provider to the financial services industry, where he managed the Support Services operations and team. Prior to Gravitas, he was a Technology/CSA Manager at Richard Fleischman & Associates, Inc., a premier technology integrator servicing over 100+ hedge fund/private equity clients in the metropolitan New York City area. Mr. Rhee received his B.S. degree magna cum laude in Information Technology from American Intercontinental University, while also serving on active duty in the United States Navy, and is a veteran of the second Gulf War (Operations Enduring & Iraqi Freedom).
Director of Human Resources
Kirsten Kearns joined OrbiMed in 2012 as the Director of Human Resources. Ms. Kearns was previously the Director of Human Resources for Tremblant Capital Group from 2002 to 2012. Prior to Tremblant Capital Group, Ms. Kearns held positions at Next Jump Inc., The Charlie Rose Show and Home Box Office. Ms. Kearns has a B.A. from Fordham University and a Certification in Human Resources Management from New York University.
Sara Heung joined OrbiMed in 2011 as a Senior Accounting Associate in Finance and Administration Team from HSBC Bank USA in New York. Sara studied at Idaho State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts, The City University of Hong Kong, where she earned her Postgraduate Diploma in Corporate Administration, and at Hong Kong Shue Yan College, where she earned her Diploma in Business Administration. She is Associate member of ICSA (Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators) and HKICS (Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries).
Joseph Narvaez joined OrbiMed in 2011 as a Network Engineer. Prior to joining OrbiMed, Mr. Narvaez was employed as an IT Systems Analyst at Fidessa Corporation, a global company specializing in financial software solutions, where he supported the firm's internal IT systems. He received his B.S. degree in Information Technology from the University of Scranton and is a VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
Albert You joined OrbiMed in 2012 as a Software Engineer, responsible for trading systems integration. Mr. You has a career background at Fidessa Corporation and Citigroup, specializing in front office trading systems. Mr. You graduated from Syracuse University with a B.S. degree in Computer Hardware Engineering.
Sydney Kim is a Compliance Officer. Ms. Kim previously worked at Och-Ziff Capital Management Group, a leading multi-strategy hedge fund. Prior to Och-Ziff Capital, she was a Paralegal at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in the Litigation Department. Ms. Kim graduated from Temple University magna cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science.
Senior Accounting Associate
Kyle Bartz joined OrbiMed in 2012 as a Senior Accounting Associate. Mr. Bartz previously worked at WL Ross & Co. LLC as a Senior Fund Accountant since 2008. Prior to that Mr. Bartz worked at Citi Private Equity Services on the institutional side of client services as a private equity accountant. Mr. Bartz graduated from Lycoming College with a B.A. in Business Adminstration majoring in Economics and Finance.
